I purchased a refurbished Sony CFDS01 CD Radio Cassette Recorder from a well-reviewed Amazon retailer and it has proven to be almost a total failure. I tested it on battery power initially and it worked but after a few weeks (in which time I was using it on AC power) the batteries, which had not been used, entirely drained themselves apparently through some sort of short-circuit within the unit. I was looking for a boombox that was small with good sound to use in my dance class. The Sony CFDS01 did not do the job. The sound is tinny with no bass at all. If turned up loud the sound gets shrill and distorted. The best use for this machine would be in a small room at low volume. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

This is a replacement for a similar box that had a poor analog tuner and a now defunct CD drive. I needed this unit to do both books on tape and CDs and to lock in the radio stations with the digital tuner. Easily a best in its class product. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

I was looking for something to take to work that was not tremendously expensive, gave me the options Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
- Inexpensive, great sound, and a lot of features
- Seems a bit flimsy with the CD player door
