The Olympus Pen E-PM1 is a decent little camera. We don't think it's been quite as successfully simplified as Panasonic's GF3 (we would have almost preferred no ASM modes at all!) and grip could definitely be improved. The Olympus E-PM1 is the baby of the 2011 PEN triplets. Nick-named the PEN Mini, the E-PM1 doesn't replace an existing model, but is a new entry in the range designed to appeal to those who want to step up from a point-and-shoot. This is an exceptional camera. Including SLRs and compact cameras this is my twelth camera purchase in the last several years. This is by far my favorite. The experience of using this camera is just wonderful. I have a 16 month old so I have to move fast. The startup and focus time are really quick so I can just start clicking away as my toddler runs back and forth. In good light I never use the flash, but at least I can add it on easily if I need it. Camera is great. Very nice build quality and fast auto focus. My only gripe is the quality of the LCD. It's quite poor by today's standards. Could be a deal breaker for some. For the price point it's a great buy. All the manual controls you want are there. Just a couple of clicks away in the menu system. The Olympus E-PM1 is an amazing little camera that is definitely worth getting. When you first use the camera, it is in an easy to use point and shoot mode. The Live Guide allows you to preview the photos before you take them. The camera has many modes. These include P,A,S,M, i Auto, Scene and Movie. P, A, S, M modes are included on this camera.
