   It's not hard to imagine the sales of B&W's Zeppelin iPod dock provoking widespread envy among rivals. Philips certainly fancies a piece of the action: its new DS9000, part of its swish new ‘Fidelio' range, is proportioned and priced to meet the Zeppelin head-on.    Since I bought this device I can only be positive about it. It's sound quality has never been disappointing, whatever I listened. It all feels very balanced and the low frequencies are powerful, too! One great thing is, since I play the drums, that can play along with music without having to boost the music through my headphones. This monster can really play at reasonable volumes.    Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this? ) This review is from: Philips Fidelio DS9000 Primo Speaker Dock for iPod/iPhone (Brown/Black) (Electronics) I don't know much about the sound to comment on it, not to mention it's highly subjective. Take my review for few basic comments. 1. This dock is extremely simple, without much function. For instance, there is not even power on/off button.    Fidelio DS9000 used with Apple Lossless files on a late-2009 generation iPod touch. Decent sounding dock but the bass is overblown no matter where the dock is situated. The Fidelio app crashes on the opening screen if your iPod or iPhone are on iOS3, so you can't access a number of the functions which are part of the package (eg tone controls to tame that bass, alarm functions).    I looked at several high end docks including the top of the line Bose and B&W units. This unit was almost half the price but is a very solid good looking dock with great sound and more volume than most would need. Not for carrying around but great if you have a room in mind.
