   The Sigma AF 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 DC HSM may be the new star in this lens segment. It's very sharp across the whole range straight from the max. aperture. Lateral CAs are also very well controlled. That's quite an achievement for such an extreme ultra-wide angle zoom lens. If you're into architecture photography you will notice some barrel distortions when using the 8mm setting but that's actually a general problem in this class and at 12mm it shows less distortions than the...    Having such a wide field of view, coupled with the close minimum focus distance of only 24cm, makes this lens a lot of fun to use. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you like to use filters on your wide lenses, and a lens as wide as this can be quite a challenge to use well. Saying that, if you find yourself hitting the stop at the wide end of the zoom on your current APS-C compatible ultra-wide zoom, then this lens is certainly worth a look.    This is the widest wide you can get for an APS-C size sensor. I use it on a Nikon D7000, and used it before on a D300s. The image quality is fantastic, almost equal to the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8G lens on a FX body. Build quality is solid. This is a fun lens. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

   8 mm är extremt, och svårt att använda, men fruktansvärt roligt. Skärpan är kanon rakt igenom. Precis som de flesta vidvinklar så vinjetterar den något. Betydligt bättre bildkvalitet än FF modellen. I övrigt bra och stabilt byggd. HSM är alltid trevligt. Rekommenderas varmt, även om det numera finns många bra alternativ i den här klassen.    • Unikt omfång. Skarpt som attan.
   • Buktande frontelement. Kan ej använda filter. blir skuggor i bilden vid användande av inbyggda blixtar. Det finns billigare alternativ om man inte måste ha 8mm.

   Wider than any other DX (or full frame) lens as of Jan 2012. Going down to 8mm can produce some incredibly dynamic shots once you get the knack. It's as well built as any Nikon DX lens. Distortion is minimal for this class of lens and sharpness is excellent even at wide apertures.<br />The 'bulb' front element means it can't take filters - the lens cap clips in to an extension ring you have to lug around.    This is probably one of my favorite lenses just for the fun factor. I have more fun with this lens than 90% of the other lenses in my collection. Color rendition and contrast are amazing, and distortion isn't really bad considering how wide you're going.    Fantastiskt objektiv! Ett perfekt komplement till mitt Nikon 18-200. Ger helt makalösa landskapsfoton som är mitt favorittema. Ganska kraftig vinjetting vid 8mm men med Photoshop cs5 och det nya "Lens correction" med rätt Sigma 8-16 profil så blir det helt perfekt.
