   I have to spend some time with the instructions to figure out how to best use the flash. In dark areas it does not automatically fire unless the camera is set to flash instead of auto.    All the new powershots and in fact any P&S suffer from terrible flash power. Canon finally released this welcome addition. It does the job perfectly and really worth the purchase. The added bracket fits into the shoe-mount of the camera and the other screw, screws in the flash on the SIDE of the camera.    HF-DC1 High Power Wireless Flash for Canon Powershot digital camera can be user for almost any camera where extra flash is needed. I was surprise for the size the power of the flash.
