Canon 1V, 1D and 1Ds should be aware that the ST-E2 allows these camera, which focus very well in low light, to focus in complete darkness. There are times when this capability is necessay, so this is more than a one trick pony. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

The potential user should be aware that this unit will only work reliably indoors - where the light can reflect from surfaces. Since it operates on infrared light, it really needs line-of-sight alignment to operate with certainty - but reflected light as described gives pretty reliable results. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
I've used this product for about a year now, and I have a complaint about how outdated this seems. I find myself using 580EX II's set to off for master flash work more than I use this. I am noticing that the only times I use this is when I need autofocus in low light conditions. It's not very cost effective for the price. The 580 EX II can do more than this can as a slave master and it's only a marginal cost more expensive. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
This unit works as advertised. It lets you control remotely a compatible Canon Flash head (or several). It works great indoors, but there are some limitations relating to the infrared communication. RF (Radio Frequency) signals would be much better because line of sight would not be required. The 'user interface' also seems to be coming from a different decade. The unit is also much bigger than expected. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
