   If, like me, you have an Olympus DSLR and are enjoying its flexibility and quality, you may well be considering a flash unit . At first glance, the cost of the two available Olympus units is a little off putting. In particular, I asked myself "how will this improve my photography?" Well, I ended up choosing the FL50, and I'm glad I did. This is a seriously powerful flash gun , but its controllability and flexibility mean that you can use it in any situation.    Considering the automatic functions of this flash with the E-3, the price was well worth it, purchased used at KEH. When shooting weddings, this flash produced good lighting along with ambient light. I added a LumiQuest bounce adapter. The flash is placed on a professionally designed bracket including the off-camera adapter. I'm very well pleased with the results. 5. great versatile flash

   I bought this flash originally just for more consistent output for night photography at parties and events, but I've found that I'm using it now even during the day for shooting sports and as filler light. The amount of control it has on hand makes this such a versatile flash. The interface between my E-510 makes it even more user friendly. It does, however, weigh the camera down a little.
