   We tested the Sonim XP3 in San Francisco using AT&T service. Call quality was respectable, though not spectacular. Callers sounded like themselves, but there was a very slight hum in the background. The volume gets quite loud, but the hum was most audible at the highest volume levels.    The is a very versatile, and durable phone. I purchased it because I want a basic phone; that is exactly what it is. Yes, it has web capabilities, speaker phone, bluetooth, etc... however, I didn't want to be forced into a data plan and this phone is perfect!    I am deeply disappointed. It is a really sturdy phone but with a jurassic software, "echoes" sounds and if you succeed in synhcronizing this phone with your laptop maybe you win a prize. No way to adjust the alarm volume: moreover it is the only one. It is a perfect phone if you are hammering in a remote workshop but not too much in a "normal" city life.    Having owned a variety of phones with a multitude of applications, i wanted something more basic and hardwearing. I had broken my last nokia quite a few times and had replacements. So being a land rover owner (vehicle(on my 5th)) i thought i would give the mobile a try. Well i have dropped it countless times and you wouldn't know.    Jag orkar inte sammanfatta, är så besviken på tillverkaren samt de som skriver i tidskrifter och ger denna produkt både medel samt bra betyg, jag tycker det påminer om när Tv hade April skämt om nylonstrumpan på Tvrutan för att man skulle få färgtv, det gick min far på också, nu gick jag på att köpa en Sonim XP3 QUEST.    I first bought one of these for my father who works in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska half the year and then in the sand and salt of the gulf coast the other half of the year. I bought one for myself 6 months later. We have both beaten these phones to death and they still work great.    • It's hardly a con, but this phone has the features of a circa 1992 Motorola flip phone. However, if you're looking at one of these you already know that going into it.
