   De som spelat föregående spel kommer garanterat känna igen sig i mångt och mycket, då utvecklingsteamet till stor del består av samma konstellation som serien haft sedan barnsben. Sparsystemet är även det sig likt – man sparar sin framgång genom att bikta sig för en präst, men som tur är går det också att snabbspara när som helst (vilket är ett måste för det handhållna formatet, då ens tid oftast är begränsad när man är på resande fot).    With an amazing story, characters, gameplay, music, visuals, tons of diverse missions/sidequests and multiple customization options this is easily one of the best RPGs or JRPGs I have ever played. The game does start off a bit on the easy side but the difficulty ramps up nicely. The item inventory/equipping menu is similar to that of the Kingdom Hearts franchise.    I bought Dragon Quest IX about a month ago and have been playing it voraciously ever since. As a youngster I used to lose hours of my life to RPGs but for the last few years I haven't been playing games much at all. This changed when my girfriend bought me a DS and it is great to revisit my youth again. I have now been playing DQIX for about 60 hours and I am nowhere near bored of this game.    Nintendo DS is the roleplaying game console of our time, a lot of old titles and a few remakes from the Nintendo/super Nintendo era has been revived on the DS with great results. But personally I hold Dragon quest 9 the all time favorite game for this console as of yet.
