The big thing with Golden Sun is the Djinn, small creatures that you add to your characters which unlocks different abilities and allow you to summon them in a way similar to Final Fantasy . They affect which class you belong to, and it's very addictive to try to find out which combinations will maximise your different characters' potential and how the work together. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is a delight. I have no doubt in my mind that it’s among the best games released for the DS, and I’d even say the best DS RPG of 2010. It has a wonderful balance of story, battles and psynergy-based puzzles that meld perfectly into a title any gamer can appreciate. It’s an absolute joy to play and grows with the player, allowing him or her to develop an epic party of characters and explore a huge world. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

I played the first Golden Sun for the GBA and felt, while it wasn't the best portable RPG for that system, it had some great innovations such as the Psyenergy and Djinn systems which the game revolved around as well as challenging puzzles and sidequests. Now the DS sequel still holds these intact, but this sequel is lacking in substance that made the original games so popular. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
So, how can I put this? Is Golden Sun: Dark Dawn fun? Yes, most certainly. Is it quite as good as its predecessors? Almost. Does it smell just a little of cashing in? Juuuuuust a little. Let's start with the first two things you notice in every game: How it looks, and how it sounds. The art style has been well preserved in the transition to 3D, with the series-standard chibi character models fitting the small DS screens just fine. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
[...] the transition to the Nintendo DS carries over the series's unique feel, storyline, and combat system effortlessly. It can be buggy at times, but other than that, it's an absolute improvement over earlier entries. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
