The original model was followed by the DS Lite in 2006 with its glossy white casing, slimmer form factor and four levels of LCD screen brightness, and then came the aforementioned DSi, which launched early 2009 in the UK and was again even thinner, with a slightly larger screen (and saw the end of GBA cartridge-support in favour of an SD card slot, AAC playback capability, and two cameras). Here’s the bottom line: the Nintendo DSi XL is probably not worth the upgrade if you already own a Nintendo DSi, because it’s essentially the same machine but, er, bigger. On the flipside, the DSi XL is only $20 more than the DSi, so if you’re in the market for a new gaming device for the kids (or for kids at heart, like mom and dad), be sure to reach for this supersized model. The Nintendo DSi XL is larger than the DSi but otherwise pretty much the same. Unless you're desperate for more touchscreen real estate or your vision is impaired, we'd recommend you opt for the cheaper DSi Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
Nintendo's super-sized Nintendo DSi XL gaming console makes images bigger and text easier to read, but loses out on handheld comfort and visual fidelity. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
I purchased this for my son on his 6th birthday. I must say that I have not purchased or played a nintendo handheld video game since the gameboy, and this is really nice. The screens are pretty good size and the battery seems to hold up decent as of now. The games keep him busy and having fun for a long time. The only downside I noticed is how easy the screen scrathes. I would recommend this for any child or adult looking to have some fun. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

As the previous owner of a rather pink DS lite, i thought it might be time to upgrade to something a bit less old hat. But i just wasn't convinced enough by the 3DS to want to shell out the money for it - judging by the reviews of the 3D screen, it sounds a bit like forking out for the pleasure of a migraine. So it was the DSI XL for me, in that gorgeous and classy wine red colour. I guess i'm a bit too old for pink these days... Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
Having already owned a DS Lite, I decided to upgrade to DSi XL and I'm very glad I did this. I particularly liked the big screen, and battery life is surprisingly very good despite the bigger screen.

Another good thing with the bigger screen is that it's easier to read websites on the internet (access to wi-fi required). The Good: Bigger, faster hardware, new DSiWare software is intuitive, pre-installed Brain Age games, bigger stylus, decent cameras, better speakers The Bad: May be too big for some, the browser sucks, cameras could have been better, no GBA slot, can't save games to SD slot, only comes in two colors Nintendo is known for making several iteration of their handheld systems and the DS is no exception.
