It is just a bit faster, less noisy and runs slightly cooler, thus reducing perceived uncertainty of drive lifespan.    Excellent drive, great seek and response time. Very stable. Drive must be reformatted in Windows 7 (using a disk utility) as GPT file structured drive. Otherwise it will appear as a standard MBS drive which maxes out at 2TB, the disk utility will show 730 some odd MB of unallocated space and windows will not let you allocate.    Verkar vara en bra disk dvs tyst, sval å snabb, har dock inte hunnit använda den mer än ett par dagar, och vet därför inte hur stabil den är, men det är tänkt att jag skall ha den och några till i min Qnap NAS, problemet är bara att disken är åt helsike för dyr, och är därför tvungen att vänta tills priset sjunker.    I purchased 5 of these drives for a Synology DS1511+ NAS back on 2-11-11. All of the drives have performed beautifully. Ive had no issues whatsoever. These drives were on the supported hard drive list at Synology and thats why I purchased them to be compatible. I didnt have to make any tweaks and they all worked out of the the box. Almost a year now and they are still kicking. I have just under 11TB of usable storage! Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

   • All were in perfect working order on arrival and have worked for almost a year in a Raid-5 configured NAS!
   • Not easy to find this particular model drive. I plan to purchase an extra drive to keep on hand for when a drive does fail.

   I purchased 4 of these drives for a raid 5 array. Found out that they dont work with nvidias nvraid controllers. So had to purchase one. Once on a quality controller these drives are wonderful. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

   • Compatablity with some controller due to capacity.No included controller (like WD).
