   The Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB drive is the first drive of its capacity to be available for purchase for use as a boot or secondary drive. Seagate was technically first to market with their external 3TB storage solution, but it has not been sold as a bare drive for DIY use.    Bought 5 of these for a NAS device. All plugged in, all running without issue. Won't get the performance of some higher cost drives or obviously SSD but the price for the size couldn't be beaten. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

   3TB sounds good, but it took $30 in software to make more than 700GB available. I used Paragon software. Once, a few weeks after partitioning it into two 1.3GB volumes (split the disk evenly), one volume vaporized, and I had to reformat/repartition it.
