It's rather cunning solution is to bundle the drive with a PCI-Express controller card that enables everyone (with a spare PCI-e slot at least) to get in on the high-capacity action. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

The big buzz in hard drives right now is Western Digital's 3TB WD Caviar Green (WD30EZRS) internal drive. Along with its cavernous capacity, the Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB drive boasts a 64MB cache. But what makes it special - at 3TB it's the largest capacity internal hard drive currently available - is also what makes it awkward. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
The pinnacle of disk storage, and performance is attractive too Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
The Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB drive is the first drive of its capacity to be available for purchase for use as a boot or secondary drive. Seagate was technically first to market with their external 3TB storage solution, but it has not been sold as a bare drive for DIY use. I've yet to come across any con other than the fact that these are more expensive now than they were when I bought them (I know, I bought them pre-tsunami). Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
3TB sounds good, but it took $30 in software to make more than 700GB available. I used Paragon software. Once, a few weeks after partitioning it into two 1.3GB volumes (split the disk evenly), one volume vaporized, and I had to reformat/repartition it. If I hadn't been using it just for backup, I would have lost a lot of data. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
