   I've got these drives running in a RAID 5 off a LSI MegaRaid controller with no issues. They're not performance drives, so i wouldn't recommend them as a primary for you're gaming rig, but they make perfect storage drives for a server or as a backup on you main desktop.    I got 6 of them ~10 months ago, they are still running strong in a RAIDZ setup on FreeBSD with two 3Gbit/s SATA II controllers. Sometimes they make a little ticking noise, but this happens probably once every one or two hours and is not further noticable. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

   Reasonable performance and good VFM - only (slight) downside is the need to "Align" partitions to prevent performance degredation. Alignment is less "easy" on non-Windows O/S for which a native alignment tool is not available, althought the live CD version worked OK for us on a test ESXi system and avoided the need to get too technical with partitioning tools.    Since I use my three EARXs and three EARSs only for mass storage, the speed is almost never an issue. The one I have installed internally is reading and writing continuously 24/7, and sometimes playing a video from that drive is jerky, depending on the player software.
