   Transfer speeds on the LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive 301889KUA do become a choke point when you are looking at regularly transferring a large amount of data to the unit. The touch interface is an innovative approach to a backup solution and the 2TB of storage capacity will mean that data storage and backup should not be a problem for some time.    Great product! Finally something that works with the Apple Computers... Perfect product to store your treasured pictures, documents and movies! I'm not sure what I would do without it! Apple is great, but they sure do know how to keep their market to themselves! Smart or selfish is not the answer: This LaCie IS the best investment if you have an Apple computer.    I own about 5 lacie hard drives now,with a span of several years from first to last one. I like them and they have been reliable.This last one is very solidly built and looks goods. The way that I used them is for backup. So what i do is turn it on backup what needs backing up and turn it off. Maybe once a month or so. I know some people leave theres on for long periods of time.    I got this hard drive primarily to back up CDs and DVDs with pictures on them from years ago. The drive is fast and the hefty box makes it feel durable.
