   The FreeAgent GoFlex Pro is a good-looking and compact portable hard drive. Backup, synchronisation and encryption are all made easy thanks to the preloaded software, while the use of a 7200rpm disk also gives performance a shot in the arm.    Well, one thing I've learned about external or flash drives is that you better be crossing your fingers when you buy one. THANK GOD this Seagate product turn out to be a good one. My last external HD was a WD Passport SE 1TB 2.0/3.0 and it was semi-faulty because the 2.0 usb worked fine but the 3.0 didn't for some reason. I believe the cord was faulty.    I bought the GoFlex Pro as a back-up solution for home office laptops, 1 Mac and 1 PC, as well as additional media storage. It does exactly what I need. Small size and power from firewire/usb minimize clutter and improve portability when needed. It's well constructed and sealed - I've had problems in my climate with humidity limiting the life of other external drives. I don't expect that in this case. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi

   The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Pro is a solid good looking mini external hard drive. The world is flooded with relatively inexpensive 2.5" SATA hard drives in generic USB mini slim external cases.    • there are none of note, at least for this mac user. that half-star rating should be actually be zero. pity we can't award "minus stars"...
   • this drive is very poorly designed for mac use; an accidental disconnect sans eject ruins it. repairing it is nearly impossible. other reviews confirm it has memory is...

   Bought two for use with Mac Power Book OS 10.6 TimeMachine, one for me, one for my wife. Apparently easy set-up, including formatting for Mac with TimeMachine via Firewire. But TimeMachine chokes after 2-20 GB, claiming faulty disk. Mac's Disk Utility says it's fine. Have wiped and reformatted in many different ways without changing the outcome.
