   Bought a 750 wd passport because I've filled up about 5 smaller previous ones of various mfgr's. Picked this one because it was small, self powered and had large capacity for its size.... I tried to install it on my home xp - blue screened several times- Then tried to install on a notebook with win 7 and got an error message... then tried to install on a new office xp machine- install did not go according to the instructions...    I received this My Passport WD Hard Drive as a gift around 6 months ago. At first I wasn't sure that I would use it or need it since I already had another large Hard Drive that I used for Time Machine back ups on my MacBook Pro and general backing up of data. I soon realised though that the benefit of this Hard Drive is it's extremely portable! The unit itself is deceptively small in size for a hard drive with 1 TB of storage space.    The plug!....yet another obscure USB type cable that I would rather not have. I am so tired of all these different types of USB cable connectors it drives me crazy. My printer, phone, Maxtor USB HD, and now my WD D, all are USB with a different cable that I can't share. Wonderful. BUT! here is the kicker- When I plugged it in, it didn't feel like it was in!    Im in the military and purchased one of these along with 5 others ranging from the 500-1TB while we are deployed. Within 3-6 months all the drives have died. The cord that comes with it is special to the drive its self and needs to be ordered from WD if faulty. Also the hard drive can not be taken out and put in a docking station to even be attempted to be recovered, do to the fact that is built without any SATA. Lue Lisää Translate to suomi
